How to write a novel before Christmas

It’ll soon be the silly season, and I don’t mean Christmas. For the last 10 years I’ve signed up to take part in NANOWRIMO – – and failed every year, normally because November is when I’m either poor or on holiday.
So this year I’m getting a head start on the novel-writing, as I’ve today begun the first 1,184 words of my latest novel, Life To Do, a comedy about three generations of Manchester women who decide that life should be Done, and I’ll be updating the progress, somehow, on this doofydangler blog, AFTER I’ve achieved my target of 1000 words per day. I hope to have a really shit first draft by Christmas, which I can spend the new year editing.
