Misery likes company, but not everyone likes misery

So says Daisy Goodwin, Orange judge. And I flipping well agree. My novel is chicklit, yet I wouldn’t consider it’s a serious attempt at writing, because it’s not written by an author with a tragic background.

Which is complete tosh. My novel is dire because it’s too fluffy; that’s what rewrites are for. I’ve exorcised the novel, now to shape it.
